Note on data transfer to the USA

Among other things, tools from companies based in the USA are integrated on our website. If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the US servers of the respective companies. We would like to point out that the USA is not a safe third country within the meaning of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to disclose personal data to security authorities without you as the data subject being able to take legal action against this. We have no influence on these processing activities.

Source of personal data
We process personal data that we receive from our customers and interested parties in the course of our business relationship. Furthermore, we process personal data that we legitimately obtain from publicly accessible sources or that is legitimately transmitted to us by other companies within the Stadt Braunschweig Group or by other third parties (e.g. an information centre), should this be necessary for the provision of our services.

Categories of personal data that are processed
We process the following categories of personal data:

Master data (e.g. name, address)
Order data
Data for the fulfilment of our contractual obligations (e.g. sales data)
Information on creditworthiness
Correspondence (e.g. correspondence)
Advertising and sales data (e.g. interesting offers)
As well as other data comparable to the categories mentioned

Purposes for which the personal data is to be processed and legal basis for processing
We process personal data in accordance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) in the context of the balancing of interests (Art. 6 para. 1 f GDPR).

The processing of personal data serves exclusively for the invitation and, if applicable, the realisation of the registration for the event. We would like to continue to strengthen our successful relationship with customers and interested parties and issue invitations. This is also our legitimate interest.

Disclosure of data
Information about our customers and interested parties is important to us and helps us to optimise our offering. However, it is not part of our business to sell this customer information. Within the company, the departments that require this data to fulfil our contractual and legal obligations are authorised to access it.

Braunschweiger Veranstaltungsstätten GmbH also has some of the aforementioned processes and services carried out by carefully selected service providers based within the EU and commissioned in accordance with data protection regulations. These are companies in the categories of IT services, payment transactions, printing service providers, billing, debt collection and consulting as well as sales and marketing and service providers that we use in the context of order processing relationships. With regard to the transfer of data to other recipients, we may only pass on information if this is required by law, if consent has been given or if we are authorised to do so. If these requirements are met, recipients of personal data may include

- Public bodies and institutions (e.g. tax authorities, Federal Network Agency) if there is a legal or official obligation.

- Other companies or comparable organisations to which we transfer personal data in order to conduct the business relationship with you (e.g. network operators, credit agencies).

- Other companies within the Group.

In addition, other bodies may also be data recipients, provided we have your consent to transfer data.

Every data subject has the right of access under Article 15 GDPR, the right to rectification under Article 16 GDPR, the right to erasure under Article 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing under Article 18 GDPR, the right to object under Article 21 GDPR and the right to data portability under Article 20 GDPR.

The restrictions under Sections 34 and 35 BDSG apply to the right of access and the right to erasure. In addition, there is a right of appeal to a competent data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR in conjunction with Section 19 BDSG).

You can withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time. This also applies to the revocation of declarations of consent given to us before the GDPR came into force, i.e. before 25 May 2018. Please note that the revocation is only effective for the future. Processing that took place before the revocation is not affected.

Obligations as a data subject
As part of our business relationship, you must provide the personal data that is required for the establishment, execution and termination of a business relationship and for the fulfilment of the associated contractual obligations or that we are legally obliged to collect. Without this data, we will generally not be able to conclude, execute and terminate a contract with you.

Intention to transfer personal data to a third country or an international organisation
We do not actively transfer personal data to a third country or an international organisation.

Revocation of your consent to data processing

Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal email. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e or f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21 (1) GDPR).

If your personal data are processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is associated with such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for the purpose of direct marketing (objection pursuant to Art. 21 (2) GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place if it is technically feasible.

SSL or TLS encryption
This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Information, blocking, erasure and rectification
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to obtain information free of charge at any time about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification, blocking or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice if you have further questions on the subject of personal data.

Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. To do so, you can contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases

If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we generally need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. If the processing of your personal data was/is carried out unlawfully, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure. If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the exercise, defence or assertion of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of its erasure. If you have lodged an objection in accordance with Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data - apart from its storage - may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.
